Branson’s primary industry is tourism, and that means Branson residents are always ready to meet newcomers. The City of Branson currently has a population of about 7,500 and hosts nearly eight million visitors each year. That’s why this relatively small town enjoys services and amenities of large cities including the Branson Airport, a full-service commercial airport which opened in 2009.
No other city of 8,000 residents has more than 268 restaurants, five shopping centers (three outlet centers, one mall, and one lakefront, lifestyle retail center) and numerous big-name retailers like Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Target, Kohl's and more. There are a dozen golf courses, and enough entertainment to keep anyone busy year-round. And Skaggs Regional Medical Center offers state-of-the-art health care. The Tri-Lakes area has grown tremendously over the past 20 years, and residents have supported this growth by providing funds for improvements including a growing network of streets and highways, and state-of-the-art water and wastewater treatment systems to provide top notch service to residents and visitors while protecting the environment.
Branson is a community that cares. Many residents volunteer their time for projects that include beautification, service to non-profit organizations through events such as Community Day of Caring, and hosting numerous charitable events such as Relay for Life, and the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl For Kids’ Sake.
